Gary Brooks Faulkner, 51, of Greeley, CO, was released Tuesday by police in Islamabad, his brother, Dr. Scott Faulkner, disclosed.

Tropical storm could hit Mexico Gulf next week (Video)

Weather forecasters at the National Hurricane Center predicted that a tropical storm that is lashing on parts in Caribbean has 30 percent chance of forming into a much stronger strorm is now heading Northwest.

The agency said that though it isstill early to make predictions as whether this impending calamity will intensify or even would reach oil-rich waters of the Gulf of Mexico,but even a tropical depression could actually cause significant and added disruption to the area.

Strong winds and waves may and can able to distribute the oil in further areas and the storm could wash more oil ashore,stated ny the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Dennis Feltgen, spokesman for the National Hurricane Center said that it’s incredibly disorganized and cautioned that the chances of this impending storm of becoming a hurricane are slim.

French find e-mail passwords in Google Street View data Part II

Google is now the focus of a multi-state investigation into how it collected and what it has done with private data. The data was collected during sweeps for its Street Views site.

Richard Blumenthal started this probe a few weeks back and has even more questions than when he started. Now, dozens of other states are signing on to find out what Google knows, when did it know it and what it did with it.

Google scooped up sensitive data such as passwords when putting together its Street View service, suggests an early look at the information.

The examination was carried out by French data protection agency CNIL as it decides whether to prosecute the search firm for gathering the data.

Drunk Officer Fires Gun in Car (Video)

The Dallas, Texas Police Department says an intoxicated, off-duty officer discharged her weapon in a squad car while fellow officers were trying to take her home.

Officer Kelly Beemer was released from jail Thursday night after posting bond.

She is charged with one count of discharging a firearm in a municipality.

Police said Beemer, a 27-year-old patrol officer, was at a Dallas bar Wednesday night while off-duty and was too drunk to drive.

Two on-duty officers came to pick her up.

Investigators said Beemer got belligerent as officers were driving her to her east Dallas home.

On Thursday, Dallas police released dashcam footage of the incident.

“This is what you’ve wanted,“ she can be heard saying on a dashboard camera video.

“To take you home?“ one of the two other officers asks.

“To drive me out of my mind to where I have no [expletive] control, no control whatsoever. Isn’t this what you wanted?“ she can be heard saying.

Police said Beemer thought she was being taken to jail.

She pulled out her police-issued handgun and fired a single shot in the floorboard near the intersection of Gaston Avenue and Abrams Road, police said.

An officer can be heard on the dashcam footage yelling, “Kelly, drop the gun! Drop the gun! Drop it! Drop it!“

Police Chief David Brown said he is extremely disappointed by her actions, calling them “reckless” and “unacceptable.“

No one was hurt, but police said Beemer’s actions have the potential to shake public confidence in the department.

“Officer Beemer’s conduct is a disgrace to herself and the people trying to help her,“ First Assistant Chief Charles Cato said.

Police said they released the footage from the dashboard camera so the department cannot be accused of trying to cover the incident up.

Beemer has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

The other two officers involved have been put on restricted duty.

Finally a way to ENCRYPT Firefox users from prowlers

Finally there is a way to stop eavesdropping or hacking in Firefox. Sure there are other extension Firefox can use, which we will get into later, but HTTPS Everywhere is another great solution to solving this problem.

Let me explain how this works, and how someone could watch or hack your computer. It is really quite easy if you know what you are doing.

Today EFF and the Tor Project are launching a public beta of a new Firefox extension called HTTPS Everywhere, an extension to help users protect their privacy. Here is a clip from their website :

Firefox displays a colored address bar and an unbroken lock icon in the bottom-right corner, the page is not completely encrypted and you may still be vulnerable to various forms of eavesdropping or hacking (in many cases, HTTPS Everywhere can't prevent this because sites incorporate insecure third-party content).

I can see when I am on Blogger, that my encryption is working perfectly. However when creating this posting, it does not display any lock icon nor does it encrypt this page. Hmm... but never the less, this extension is worth is weight in gold (next to noscript & tor which we will get into later).

Difference from HTTP

As opposed to HTTP URLs which begin with "http://" and use port 80 by default, HTTPS URLs begin with "https://" and use port 443 by default (This is important to understand).

HTTP is insecure and is subject to man-in-the-middle and eavesdropping attacks which can let attackers gain access to website accounts and sensitive information. HTTPS is designed to withstand such attacks and is considered secure (which you are probably using now).

How Authentication Works

Imagine receiving an envelope with no return address and a form asking for your bank account number. Every VeriSign® SSL Certificate is created for a particular server in a specific domain for a verified business entity. When the SSL handshake occurs, the browser requires authentication information from the server. By clicking the closed padlock in the browser window or certain SSL trust marks (such as the VeriSign Secured® Seal), the Web site visitor sees the authenticated organization name. In high-security browsers, the authenticated organization name is prominently displayed and the address bar turns green when an Extended Validation SSL Certificate is detected. If the information does not match or the certificate has expired, the browser displays an error message or warning.

So, okay lets say you want to get protected what exactly do you need to do ?

1st, download an install HTTPS Everywhere. The link is in blue (on this line).

Lastly, if you know how the web works and how websites generate their contenet Download NOSCRIPT from Firefox. NOTE - If you do not know what a script is, this extension might not work for you, so I do NOT recommend installing it. A Script is a tiny piece of code telling a website to do something (e.g. playing video, counters, display something a fancy way , etc ...)

So for you decide if you want NOSCRIPT.

Lastly, I have no faith in TOR. It slows our system down to much, and I believe my IP is still tracked in various ways, so I do not use it.

Tor protects you by bouncing your communications around the world, as yes it is slow. Again the choice is yours. Here is the link.

Now back to HTTPS Everywhere ...

In simple english, this extension encrypts your data before sending, and de-crypts it when you get a response back from the webpage your on. So, if I was using 3rd party software to monitor your browsing , or watching you on a wireless network, I would still would see what you are doing, but it would display on my computer as "rubbish", effectively blocking my monitoring.

It is highly recommended that you do use HTTPS !

Does it interfere with your browsing ? NAW, you wouldn't even know it is there (other than the little o'paddle lock on the bottom right. It is easy to install, and another great extension for Firefox.

BOMB threat at Harry Potter Theme Park

A caller claimed there was a bomb at Universal Orlando tonight, but police said there were no specifics and the resort didn't ask officers to investigate on the property.

The threat was received about 8 p.m., Orlando police Lt. Eric Smith said. He would not say who received it, saying that's part of the investigation.

Officers are trying to determine where the call came from, Smith said.

The threat was vague, and Universal property is so vast that it would be impractical to search everywhere or evacuate, police said. Besides, the parks, hotels and CityWalk entertainment complex are private property, Smith said.

Thus far, Harry Potter has grossed $5,422,966,528 on international cinemas with each movie averaging $285,510,282.

On top of that, the last two movies are expected to outshine its prequels because it was the only book to be divided in half. Director David Yates said that he wants to accommodate all the plot points and to leave nothing out.

Firing Squad Executes Convicted Killer (Video)

Death row inmate Ronnie Lee Gardner died in a barrage of bullets 2 a.m. (ET) Friday as Utah carried out its first firing squad execution in 14 years.

He would be only the third person to die by firing squad in the United States in 33 years.

Corrections officials announced Gardner had consumed his last meal Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m., and has elected to fast prior to the anticipated execution. His dinner included steak, lobster, 7-Up, apple pie and vanilla ice cream.

Utah adopted lethal injection as the default execution method in 2004, but Gardner was one still allowed to choose the controversial firing squad option because he was sentenced before the law changed. He told his lawyer he did it because he preferred it -- not because he wanted the controversy surrounding the execution to draw attention to his case or embarrass the state.

The most dangerous man in the world is safely in Iceland !

Iceland has passed a sweeping reform of its media laws that supporters say will make the country an international haven for investigative journalism.

The new package of legislation was passed unanimously in one of the final sessions of the Icelandic parliament, the Althingi, before its summer break.

Created with the involvement of the whistleblowing website Wikileaks, it increases protection for anonymous sources, creates new protections from so-called "libel tourism" and makes it much harder to censor stories before they are published.

"It will be the strongest law of its kind anywhere," said Birgitta Jonsdottir, MP for The Movement party and member of the Icelandic Modern Media Initiative, which first made the proposals. "We're taking the best laws from around the world and putting them into one comprehensive package that will deal with the fact that information doesn't have borders any more."

50 votes were cast in favor, zero against, one abstained. Twelve members of parliament were not present.

Wikileaks has been involved in the drafting of the package of laws alongside Ms Jonsdottir from the beginning of the process more than a year ago. Its founder, Julian Assange, worked from Iceland on the organisation's release of the incendiary video of an apparently unprovoked American helicopter attack in Iraq that left eighteen people dead, including two journalists.

Mr Assange did not respond to requests for comment via email yesterday. But in February, he wrote: "All over the world, the freedom to write about powerful groups is being smothered. Iceland could be the antidote to secrecy havens ... it may become an island where openness is protected – a journalism haven."

Last week, Assange was expected at a meeting but never appeared there. Julian has only been communicating via Twitter and Emails since some time.

The Daily Beast reports that Pentagon investigators are trying to track down Julian Assange, the elusive Australian-born founder of WikiLeaks, who they believe is preparing to publish several years of State Department cables allegedly passed by the 22- year-old Manning, now being detained in Kuwait.

The cables contain "information related to American diplomatic and intelligence efforts in the war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq," and they could do "serious damage to national security" if made public, government officials told the Beast.

The Daily Beast revealed that:

Pentagon investigators are trying to determine the whereabouts of the Australian-born founder of the secretive website Wikileaks for fear that he may be about to publish a huge cache of classified State Department cables that, if made public, could do serious damage to national security, government officials tell The Daily Beast.

In one of his messages to Lamo, obtained by Wired magazine, Manning said: "Hillary Clinton and several thousand diplomats around the world are going to have a heart attack when they wake up one morning and find an entire repository of classified foreign policy is available."

Although it is likely that WikiLeaks has broken US laws in de-encrypting the video from Baghdad and publishing secret documents, the tone of an American official who spoke to the Daily Beast sounded more desperate than threatening. "We'd like to know where he is; we'd like his cooperation in this," the official said.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has landed himself in hot water after posting a picture of 17-year-old Miley Cyrus on Twitter.

The US blogger posted a picture which appeared to show the singer without underwear on, although other pictures at the time clearly showed she was in fact wearing undies.

The photo in question has since been removed but the incident has sparked a debate over whether Perez may face jail time for child pornography.

Speaking about the likelihood of Perez facing police charges, criminal defence attorney Christopher Leibig told E! Online: "This one image of a 17-year-old, even if it were technically child porn, is not a very big child porn case."

In a video posted in response to the backlash, Perez says: "Do you think I am stupid enough to post a real photo of Miley not wearing any underwear?" he asked. "Sure I like to be controversial, but I don't want to go to jail.

In response to the incident, Miley told US radio host Ryan Seacrest: "Isn't it funny that things like that, that are so negative, have to come out right before my record? It's like no one can let positive things happen. All I do is focus on the positive, and I hope this record does well."

Cyrus told radio host Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday (June 15), during an interview to promote her soon-to-be released album, "Can't Be Tamed." "Isn't it funny how things that are so negative have to come out right before my record?"

The Seattle police Office of Professional Accountability is investigating an officer seen on video punching a young woman in the face.

The incident, captured by a witness on video and broadcast on Seattle television stations, comes as Mayor Mike McGinn is nearing a decision on whether to pick Diaz (current Seattle Police Chief ) as permanent police chief or the other finalist, East Palo Alto, Calif., Police Chief Ron Davis.

Acting Deputy Chief Nick Metz said during a news conference on Tuesday that the review was not meant as a criticism of the officer's actions, but would examine police training tactics.

Giving Part of U.S. to Mexico ? (Video)

Signs went up a couple weeks ago along the southern side of I-8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend Arizona. The region is about 80 miles north of the Mexican border and it warns American citizens of the dangers of hiking in the area.

Mexican drug cartels appear to control large areas of Southern Arizona, according to the Pinal County Sheriff.

According to Borderland Beat, the Pinal County Sherriff says, "We do not have control of this area."

Pinal County investigators are now saying the area known as the ‘smuggling corridor’ stretches from the Mexico's border to Phoenix.

Borderland suggests the area was once known as a family hiking and off road vehicles area. However the government has posted signs warning visitors and residents of the drug and human smuggling activity.

Recently law enforcement in the southern Arizona region photographed, using night vision cameras, cartel members with military arms delivering drugs to vehicles along Highway 8.

“We are three counties deep. How is it that you see pictures like these, not American with semi and fully automatic rifles? How is that okay?" the Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu asked.

"We are outgunned, we are out manned and we don't have the resources here locally to fight this," the Sheriff said at a news conference.

Just 5 weeks ago Deputy Louie Puroll was ambushed and shot by armed men as he tracked suspected drug smugglers. Sheriff Babeu explained that incident mirrored military tactics and should act as a warning to all Arizonians.

While the federal government fails to secure the border, the Arizona state government is left to post signs warning residents that it is no longer safe to use thousands of acres of BLM land.

The new sign reads; “Danger Public Warning, travel not recommended active human and drug smuggling area, visitors may encounter armed criminals and smuggling vehicles traveling at high rates of speed. Stay away from trash, clothing, backpacks and abandoned vehicles. If you see suspicious activity, do not confront (underlined) move away and call 911. The BLM encourages visitors to use public lands north of Interstate 8.”

A mere hop, skip and jump south to Mexico the murders continue unabated.

Mexico experienced its deadliest day since Felipe Calderon took office and 85 citizens lost their lives in a single day due to an uptick in drug cartel brutality.

The bloody Friday in Mexico was summed up by local news reports as organized crime-related mayhem. “In what constitutes the most violent day since the present federal administration began the frontal struggle against organized crime, 85 people lost their lives in acts related directly to ‘adjustments of affairs’ between rival gangs, confrontations and assassinations with high-caliber firearms,” local newspapers reported.

Congressman Assaults Student on Washington Sidewalk

Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-NC) attacks a student after being asked a question about his support for President Obama's political agenda.

Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-N.C.) has apologized for actions captured in a YouTube video, featured on a conservative website, that went viral on Monday.

"I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction, and I apologize to all involved," Etheridge said in a statement. "Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse."

There remain questions about the video, which was said to be shot in Washington outside of a fundraiser held by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, which Etheridge attended.

It was featured Monday on a conservative website known for its video sting of the group ACORN; the post is heavily promoted by the Drudge Report.

A simple question, does not prompt a response like that.

Skype certainly provides a very nice way for voice communication and chat, but questions remain: Is the system is secure and reliable? Can outsiders capture the conversation or intercept data?

To answer these questions, we will be searching different previous ways demonstrated by security researchers to hack Skype.

Intercepting data on VoIP systems is no different than traditional packet sniffing, the method is the same. The media is transmitted over UDP using the RTP (Real Time Protocol).

Now to analyze the data, we should use an advanced sniffer such as Wireshark, which can decode the session automatically and also provides graphs for results about different communication.

Recording VoIP is possible by using tools such as UCSniff (http://ucsniff.sourceforge.net/) this allows to:

• Targeting of VoIP Users based on Corporate Directory and/or extensions
• Support for automatically recording private IP video conversations
• Automatically re-creates and saves entire voice conversation to a single file that can be played back by media players
• Support for G.729, G.723, G.726, G.722, G.711 u-law, and G.711 a-law compression codecs
• Support for H.264 Video codec
• Automated VLAN Hop and VLAN Discovery support
• A UC Sniffer (VoIP and Video) combined with a MitM re-direction tool
• Monitor Mode
• Sniffs entire conversation if only one phone is in source VLAN
• Gratuitous ARP Disablment Bypass support
• TFTP MitM Modification of IP Phone features
• Realtime VoIP and Video Monitor

Intercepting video conferencing over the network is also possible unless the transition is encrypted. As security measures for signals TLS (Transport Layer Security) is used to protect SIP signals and RTP (Secure Real Time Protocol), but in most cases the voice is transmitted in just clear signal.

Skype mandates encryption of all transmitted traffic, but catching Skype calls is still possible.

Ruben Unteregger, a 33-year-old software developer from Switzerland, has made public the source code of a Trojan that taps into Skype conversations, The Trojan receives commands from a dedicated server, and then sends hackers the desired Audio files.

When the user opens up the Skype Client and starts a conversation, the Trojan performs a DLL injection that will allow it to attach itself to the Skype process and record all audio/video conversations.

The recorded audio files are then transformed from a PCM audio format to MP3, encrypted and sent to a server on the web.

Finally it is important to note that listening and recording conversation of other people is illegal and it is classified as a crime while these tools can be used to make a backup of your own conversations and as a Proof of Concept demonstration tool and a method of creating awareness around VoIP/UC threats.

Pentagon MANHUNT - SPY to reveal classified data ONLINE

The Daily Beast reports that Pentagon investigators are trying to track down Julian Assange, the elusive Australian-born founder of WikiLeaks, who they believe is preparing to publish several years of State Department cables allegedly passed by the 22- year-old Manning, now being detained in Kuwait.

The cables contain "information related to American diplomatic and intelligence efforts in the war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq," and they could do "serious damage to national security" if made public, government officials told the Beast.

The Daily Beast revealed that:

Pentagon investigators are trying to determine the whereabouts of the Australian-born founder of the secretive website Wikileaks for fear that he may be about to publish a huge cache of classified State Department cables that, if made public, could do serious damage to national security, government officials tell The Daily Beast.

In one of his messages to Lamo, obtained by Wired magazine, Manning said: "Hillary Clinton and several thousand diplomats around the world are going to have a heart attack when they wake up one morning and find an entire repository of classified foreign policy is available."

Although it is likely that WikiLeaks has broken US laws in de-encrypting the video from Baghdad and publishing secret documents, the tone of an American official who spoke to the Daily Beast sounded more desperate than threatening. "We'd like to know where he is; we'd like his cooperation in this," the official said.

Trapped man attempts to sever his own arm

(CNN) Trapped in the basement by a broken furnace for three days, and the only hope for survival is to cut off your own arm.

It's certainly a horrifying tale, but it was reality for Jonathan Metz, 31, of West Hartford, Connecticut.

Metz had been trapped in his basement for two days when he smelled rotting flesh and realized his only hope to stay alive was to amputate his left arm, which was trapped by a furnace. So he made a tourniquet just below his shoulder and sawed through 90 percent of his arm before he passed out.

Luckily, neighbors realized they had not seen Metz for a few days and called police, who were able to rescue him with the aid of firefighters.

According to West Hartford Fire Chief Matt Stuart, rescuers ripped apart the furnace using heavy tools and completed the amputation. The arm could not be reattached because of infection.

In a news conference Thursday, trauma doctors from Hartford's St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center who tended to Metz recounted what happened.

"His arm was dying, and once that happens, you release toxins, and he did mention the smell, so he knew something wasn't right," explained Dr. Scott Ellner.

The doctors said there a nerve probably got in the way of Metz finishing the amputation. He will have to undergo a few more surgeries to make the arm viable for a prosthetic.

As of Friday afternoon, Metz was alert and talking to doctors after undergoing muscle flap surgery in the morning, said Tina Varona, the hospital's media relations manager.

Varona said surgeons were able to clean and cover the bone with muscle tissue during the 2 1/2 hour operation. Surgeons say the tissue was "healthy and viable," and they were able to modify and close the wound.

Dr. David Shapiro was inspired by Metz's actions, saying, "The way that he did it was frightening, admirable, horrifying, brave and just amazing to us."

Metz was trying to repair the furnace when he got trapped. Drinking water leaking from the furnace helped keep him alive.

Poll: 51% of Americans Oppose Offshore Oil Drilling

As the Deepwater Horizon leak continues to dump oil into the Gulf of Mexico, American opinions about offshore oil drilling have begun to shift. More than half now believe the risks of offshore drilling outweigh the benefits, according to a nationwide survey by Virginia Commonwealth University released today.

Views about offshore drilling are likely influenced by the major oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico, according to the survey. The leak has been ongoing since an April 20 explosion aboard a drilling rig. The leak raises the specter of environmental risks from offshore drilling when the process goes awry.

When asked specifically about the risk and benefit tradeoffs of offshore drilling, a 51-percent majority indicate the environmental risks outweigh the benefits; 35 percent think the benefits outweigh the environmental risks.

However, opinion among the general population about increasing offshore oil drilling is currently divided with 45 percent in support of increasing offshore drilling and 44 percent opposed.

The survey also covered a range of other science- and environment-related beliefs. When asked to evaluate a series of environmental and energy issues as potential problems for the country, the most widespread concern was pollution. Eight in 10 adults said pollution of the country's rivers, lakes and reservoirs is a major problem, 16 percent said it is a minor problem, and just 3 percent believe this is not a problem.

Air pollution is seen as a major problem by 74 percent of adults. Seventy-three percent said overreliance on energy from oil and gas is a major problem.

Global warming, by comparison, is one of the least likely issues to be seen as a major problem; 54 percent said it is a major problem, 23 percent consider it a minor problem, and 19 percent said it is not a problem. Views about global warming are divided along partisan lines. Seven in 10 Democrats said global warming is a major problem. This compares with 27 percent of Republicans saiding the same. A majority (53 percent) of independents think global warming is a major problem.

The survey was conducted by landline and cell phone with 1,001 adults nationwide from May 12-18. The margin of error for the poll is plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.

Ohio dairy farm man charged with animal cruelty ‎

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office Facebook page has been bombarded with comments showing outrage at the act this morning.

“The matter is being investigated by the Union County Sheriff's Office and the Union County Humane Society agents. Animal cruelty will be prosecuted by the City Attorney's Office. Rest assured that the matter is being fully investigated; the person depicted in the video is in custody at this time,” said the post that is dated about 12:30 ET today.

Boggs says the investigation is well underway and would not comment on the motive behind the abuse. He says his department has been in contact with the farm owner Gary Conklin, who Boggs says was not at home during much of the time that the undercover footage was shot.

Billy Joe Gregg Jr. has been charged with 12 counts of cruelty to animals after a welfare group released a video it says shows him and others beating cows with crowbars and pitchforks.

The Union County sheriff's office says Gregg was fired from Conklin Dairy Farms in Plain City on Wednesday.

Gary Conklin is also expected to be charged.

Chilling undercover footage recorded during a new Mercy For Animals investigation exposes dairy farm workers sadistically abusing cows and young calves.

Captured on hidden camera, the shocking scenes of abuse reveal a culture of cruelty at Conklin Dairy Farms in Plain City, Ohio.

During a four-week investigation between April and May, MFA's investigator documented farm workers:

Violently punching young calves in the face, body slamming them to the ground, and pulling and throwing them by their ears
Routinely using pitchforks to stab cows in the face, legs and stomach
Kicking "downed" cows (those too injured to stand) in the face and neck – abuse carried out and encouraged by the farm's owner
Maliciously beating restrained cows in the face with crowbars – some attacks involving over 40 blows to the head
Twisting cows' tails until the bones snapped
Punching cows' udders
Bragging about stabbing, dragging, shooting, breaking bones, and beating cows and calves to death

After viewing the footage, Dr. Bernard Rollin, distinguished professor of animal science at Colorado State University, stated: "This is probably the most gratuitous, sustained, sadistic animal abuse I have ever seen. The video depicts calculated, deliberate cruelty, based not on momentary rage but on taking pleasure through causing pain to cows and calves who are defenseless."

The video was recorded in an undercover investigation at Conklin Dairy Farms Inc., said Mercy For Animals, a not-for-profit group that publicizes what it calls cruel practices in the dairy, meat and egg industries and promotes a vegan diet.

The video shows workers holding down newborn calves and stomping on their heads. It shows one worker wiring a cow's nose to a metal bar near the ground and repeatedly beating it with another bar while it bleeds.

X-51 Missile can strike anywhere in the world within 1 hour

The X-51 is an amazing hypersonic cruise missile having the ability to strike anywhere in the world within one hour.

The Air Force’s X-51 WaveRider will make its first flight attempt Tuesday May 25th in which that might become reality.

The test will be run from Edwards Air Force Base, California once again. The last test was 2/4/2008 when the Air Force tested the X-51 antennas.

Once the onto a B-52 Stratofortress. reaches 50,000 feet, the B-52 will release its payload.

The solid rocket booster will then kick in, taking the missile to about Mach 4.5. After the booster falls away, the scramjet is supposed to take the 26 ft missile up to Mach 6.

The X-51 could fly for as long as 5 minutes.

Arrington started things off by asking Bartz “how the fuck” she was.

Bartz took a shot at Arrington, saying, “you are at a very tiny company. It probably takes yourself a long time to figure out what to do. Fuck off!”

It took Carol Bartz 16 months to put Yahoo where it is today, including the recent addition "Yahoo Agrees To Buy Associated Content".

I think Techcrunch should put their head in a hole someplace. Mikey is clearly making a joke out of Techcrunch and it's staff.

Yahoo is clearly victorious here.

Furthermore, if Mikey does not watch what he says, he might get another death threat. It did not take him long to grow a set :)

A hurricane could turn oil into a spray

The Atlantic hurricane season gets underway June 1st, just a few days away. A hurricane this year would pile misery upon misery.

Aside from making it impossible for surface ships to stick around the site and work on fixing the well and capturing as much oil as possible, a hurricane would violently spread the oil everywhere in the Gulf and maybe even help it reach the loop current.

This could bring some oil all the way over Florida and up the East coast of North-America.

A powerful hurricane could also mix the oil with water as far as 150 meters down.

Experiments at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found that winds blowing hard enough to constitute a hurricane — more than 74 mph — weren't calmed at all by an oil slick.

Instead they tended to whip the slick into a spray.

While there are different theories on what happens when storms and oil mix, it's difficult to tell until it happens.

We don't know what would happen, but if they don't clean up the oil spill by September, then we definitely could see some hurricane and oil spill interaction.

Ghostbuster 3 coming in Christmas 2012 (Spoiler)

Dan Aykroyd has confirmed that shooting for third Ghostbusters movie is set for Christmas 2012 .

It was earlier reported that Sigourney Weaver - who starred in the first two films - was unwilling to reprise her role as Dana Barrett.

However, Aykroyd has revealed that the original cast is in place to reprise the characters from the 1984 film.

He said that Weaver has signed on for the project, alongside himself, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.

Weaver stated:

"I know that my little son, Oscar – who was kidnapped from me – I think he has grown up to be a ghostbuster," adding, "I might be in it and I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don't think I will have a big part in it. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it - he might be a ghost."

To which Murray responded in his email interview:

"I'll come back in Ghostbusters III only if I get to be a ghost. I said to them, 'I'll do it if you kill me off in the first reel.' So now they are going to have me as a ghost in the film."

Every major studio seems to be picking up on the 3-D releases, from Disney's Alice in Wonderland and Tron Legacy, to Sony's new Spider-Man reboot. Many studios are making last-minute choices to convert or add 3-D to some of their more immediate releases, like Warner Bros. with Clash of the Titans. Either way, this isn't an official announcement, but you can probably put money down that we'll see our favorite paranormal investigators in 3-D.

Judge use vacation day to see Lindsay Lohan

Running Late Again !

The judge who issued a bench warrant for Lindsay Lohan on Thursday is reportedly taking time out of her vacation to preside over the actress' next scheduled hearing on Monday (today).

Judge Marsha N. Revel was supposed to start her vacation on Monday -- with another judge overseeing Lohan's court date -- but Revel has decided to use her first vacation day to handle Lohan's hearing.

Judge Marsha Revel ordered Lindsay Lohan to refrain from drinking or doing drugs.

Judge Revel told Lohan she must wear a SCRAM alcohol monitoring bracelet and she must submit to random drug testing.

She is also required to stay in the Los Angeles area.

Lohan has completed 10 of the 13 required alcohol-education classes.

How to play in the Lingerie Football League (LFL)

This league has about 12 teams nationwide in cities like Chicago, Miami and Philadelphia.

This football is real.

Play style is full-contact and similar to other indoor football leagues. Uniforms consist of shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee pads, garters, bras, panties, and ice hockey-style helmets with clear plastic visors in lieu of face masks.

There are no field goals and no punts. There is a kickoff to start the game and second half. A team must attempt to get a first down on every fourth down. After a touchdown, a team can attempt a one-point conversion from the two yard line, or a two-point conversion from the five-yard line.

There are seven women on each side of the 50-yard field, the same as the Continental Indoor Football League, but one fewer than the eight players usually found in arena football or other indoor leagues. Teams consist of 20 players, only 14 of whom are active on game day. This means that there are usually 3 or 4 players who play both offense and defense.

The standard offensive formation features 1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 1 center, and 3 wide receivers. The standard defensive formation features 2 defensive linemen, 2 linebackers, 2 cornerbacks, and 1 safety.

The field is 50-yard between end zones, 30 yards wide, and the end zones are 8 yards deep, roughly the same as other indoor leagues.

A game consists of two 17-minute halves, separated by a 15-minute halftime. In the event of a tie, an 8-minute sudden-death overtime is played.

The Lingerie League says its goal is to place a team in every NFL city by 2016.

Maine's Topless Coffee Shop reopens in tent

Maine's Grand View Topless Coffee Shop has had a dramatic year. After only opening up in the town of Vassalboro back in February, the place has been had it's moment in the media limelight, been burnt to the ground by an arsonist, and then reopened in a tent.

The Grand View Topless Coffee Shop, located at the site of the former Grand View Motel, opened its doors February 2009 on busy Route 3 in Vassalboro.

The Grand View Coffee Shop, which was burned to the ground by a moral crusader, has already reopened. Owner Donald Crabtree erected a tent on the site of his destroyed cafe, and the topless waitresses have volunteered to work just for tips.

BP stock falls as Hurricane season begins in 9 days

BP stocks fall to their lowest level since August 2009 after U.S. politicians accuse the company of covering up the true extent of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Shares of BP (BP: 43.89, -0.69, -1.55%) and Transocean (RIG: 59.21, 1.2, 2.07%) had each fallen by about 6% in midday trading.

On a side note : BP will never have this mess cleaned up by Hurricane season.

In the Atlantic it begins June 1st and ends November 30th.

Hurricane season begins in 9 days, and major storms could bring oil pollution miles inland.

Forecasters are calling for 14 to 18 storms with sustained winds of at least 39 miles per hour to form in the Atlantic before Nov. 30.

North Korea warns all out war is near

South Korea and the United States are considering upgrading the alert status on North Korea to the next level as tensions build up on findings the North sank one of the South’s naval ships, Yonhap news agency reported on Friday.

“If the (South Korean) enemies try to deal any retaliation or punishment, or if they try sanctions or a strike on us …. we will answer to this with all-out war,” Col. Pak In Ho of North Korea’s navy told broadcaster APTN in an exclusive interview in Pyongyang.

North Korea is already believed to have enough plutonium for at least half a dozen atomic bombs.

The United States deploys about 28,000 troops in South Korea to deter the North from invading South Korea, as it did in 1950. Top U.S. and South Korean officers say the annual exercises are routine and defensive in nature. The U.S. said it stood ready to help South Korea defend itself against any further "acts of aggression."

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and spokesmen for the White House and the U.S. State Department chose their words carefully in their responses to the report.

"Clearly this was a serious provocation by North Korea and there will definitely be consequences because of what North Korea has done," said State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley.

Gates said the United States was consulting with South Korea, which would decide what action to take.

A report by investigators, including experts from the United States, Australia, Britain and Sweden, concluded that a North Korean submarine had fired the torpedo that sank the Cheonan corvette in March, killing 46 sailors.

South Korean and the U.S. military are reviewing the possibility of elevating the five-level Watch Condition, or Watchcon, alert on North Korea by one notch, to Level 2.

Under a Level 2 alert, which indicates the presence of a vital threat against national security, South Korea and American forces would step up their intelligence and reconnaissance efforts.

The Watchcon in South Korea is usually kept at Level 3, which indicates a steadily rising threat that warrants careful monitoring, because of the potential threat from the North. The South has lifted the Watchcon to Level 2 on five previous occasions, most recently in May 2009, when North Korea conducted its second nuclear test.

Level 1, the most serious alert, has not been issued since the Korean War ended in 1953.

A Boston Pilot threatened to crash plane

A report on local radio said that A JetBlue pilot had emailed his girlfriend, a flight attendant, saying that if they did not resolve their differences he would crash the plane.

It was, perhaps, the most unsettling news for passengers about to take off last night in Boston.

"I don't think its appropriate, especially with what's going on the world, with air travel," said one traveler.

The airline released a statement saying:

"A JetBlue pilot was removed from duty for health-related reasons. At no point were any customers or aircraft in danger."

The airline says the reports that the pilot threatened to crash his place are "pure speculation."

JetBlue say it is working closely with Boston authorities to ensure the crew member receives appropriate medical attention.

Massachusetts State Police said on Friday that a gun the pilot was carrying was taken away by authorities after he told an acquaintance he might harm himself.

Lindsay Lohan leaves her yacht for the Marseille French Consulate to obtain a temporary passport today. She will be back in the United States by Friday evening.

The actress has spent the last few days partying at the Cannes Film Festival, claiming a lost passport prevented her from returning to the U.S., where she was due to appear in court yesterday.

Lohan has completed 10 of the 13 required alcohol-education classes.

Lindsay, posted $100,000 (around £70,000) bail to ensure her appearance at a new date set for Monday morning.

Google Celebrates Pac-Man's 30th Anniversary

A playable ... logo? That's exactly what web giant Google has today, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Pac-Man's Japanese release. The doodle (Google's term for its event and holiday-specific logos) is accessible on its main page and is a full 255-level game complete with a 256th level "kill screen," just like the original coin-op.

If you have not made it to Google lately, then here is a video below of this doodle.

On May 22, 1980 the now-iconic Pac-Man game was released in Japan by Namco Games.

The name of the game comes from the sound of eating, according to the official Pac-Man website. "Paku" is the Japanese sound for "chomp."

LIVE video feed from the Gulf of Mexico is Online

A live video feed that shows the oil gushing from the blown-out well in the Gulf of Mexico is now available online.

BP has complied, and the feed is up at the Web site of the Energy and Commerce Committee, of which the Democratic lawmaker is chairman.

Now, the only problem is that the site’s servers are unable to handle the traffic. As of early this afternoon, the video was not viewable.

“We’re working around the clock as we speak to fix this,” said Eben Burnham-Snyder, a spokesman for Mr. Markey. “The enormous demand for this video means that it’s now taxing the servers.”

Mr. Markey had hoped that the video, from 5,000 feet below the oceans surface, would better inform both scientists and the general public.

“This video will allow the world to see the damage that is occurring in our oceans, and reinforce the urgency to end this disaster,” he said in a press release.

Lindsay Lohan WANTED by Police

A warrant has been issued for Lindsay Lohan's arrest after she failed to attend a mandatory probation hearing in Los Angeles on Thursday morning.

The Mean Girls star was ordered to appear before Judge Marsha Revel at Beverly Hills Courthouse amid reports she has failed to complete court-ordered alcohol education classes stemming from a 2007 arrest.

But Lohan found herself stranded in Europe on Wednesday after losing her passport following an ill-advised trip to France last week to attend the Cannes Film Festival.

She claimed her papers had been stolen and turned to U.S. Embassy officials for help, but they were only able to replace the documentation on Thursday - forcing Lohan to miss her court date.

The probation hearing went ahead as planned on Thursday, when Lohan's lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley attempted to explain the passport problem to Judge Revel as the reason for the actress' absence.

But the judge refused to accept the excuse and she issued the arrest warrant within minutes of the hearing starting at 8.30am (local time), reports TMZ.com.

Lohan's bail has been set at $100,000.

The troubled star is reportedly due to fly back to the U.S. on Friday. She is expected to be taken into custody upon landing in America.

More lies about Google WiFi data collection Part 2

Google’s top executive shrugged off any privacy concerns in the wake of reports that his company secretly recorded data from private Wi-Fi wireless networks, saying "No one has taken it, done anything with it. It has not been given to anyone."

The admission came in a blog post from Alan Eustace, Google’s senior vice president of engineering and research, who wrote that the data protection authority in Hamburg, Germany had asked that it be allowed to audit the Wi-Fi data collected by Street View, which prompted Google to re-examine everything it had been collected.

A lie or Omission

Eustace admitted that an April 27 blog that said no personal information was collected was incorrect.

Schmidt goes on record saying " If you have something that you don't want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn't be doing it in the first place, but if you really need that kind of privacy, the reality is that search engines — including Google — do retain this information for some time.

Ignorance is no protection from punishment if one has committed a serious breach of the data privacy laws. Google clearly needs to re-examine is privacy policies.

After reading over 140 websites, Eric uses words like "probably" which to me means he is really not sure, or does not want to commit to any comment so far. His idea is simply, if you do not want Google to find you, do not post information about yourself.

It is also clear he really does not care about privacy, unless it was his. It was interesting to learn that CNET was banned from Google because they did talk about Eric in a few postings.

Eric is a member of President Obama's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Eric is also connected to 141 board members in 5 different organizations across 8 different industries.

Maybe Schmidt is playing politics. Google has some major issues pending in Washington including wi-fi privacy.

Should he enter politics, Schmidt will have to quit Google because it will be tough to live up to the company's do no evil credo in Washington, where evil seems to have its own lobbyist.

One thing is very clear, Google will NOT delete any data collected unless it gets a court order stating to do so.
